中国教育国际交流协会与新西兰大学协会关于中新高等教育合作的联合声明

2024年5月27日,第六届中国—新西兰高等教育论坛在新西兰奥克兰召开。本次论坛在新西兰教育国际推广局的支持下,由中国教育国际交流协会和新西兰大学协会联合主办。


新西兰高等教育部长佩妮·西蒙兹阁下(Hon. Penny Simmonds)为论坛致开幕辞,中国驻新西兰大使王小龙向论坛致贺信。此次论坛汇聚了由中国教育国际交流协会副秘书长傅博女士率领的21所中国研究型大学的高级代表、8所新西兰大学,以及新西兰教育国际推广局和新西兰大学协会的代表。这是自新冠疫情以来,首次线下举办的中新高等教育论坛,也是疫情以来规模最大的中国大学代表团。会议期间,双方讨论了共同支持教育合作和高质量研究伙伴关系的合作机会,这些合作将惠及中新两国。


论坛为双方提供了互学互鉴的平台,与会代表就高等教育多项议题分享了看法,包括通过加强中新两国大学间的国际合作来促进学生和教职人员的流动;培养高等教育机构青年科研人员;深化中新高校之间的研究合作;探索支持中新大学校长领导者能力提升的项目。


与会代表一致认为,中新教育合作历史悠久,两国大学是具有互补优势和共同利益的重要合作伙伴。巩固并深入探讨更多合作,对于加强中新长期互惠的教育和研究联系具有重要意义。这些合作将有助于我们共同应对气候变化、可持续发展、健康以及食品安全等诸多挑战。






Joint Statement about Higher Education Collaboration by Universities New Zealand and

China Education Association for International Exchange



On May 27, 2024, the Sixth New Zealand-China Higher Education Forum took place in Auckland, New Zealand. It was co-hosted by Universities New Zealand - Te Pōkai Tara (UNZ) and the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), with support from Education New Zealand (ENZ).


New Zealand Minister for Tertiary Education and Skills Hon Penny Simmonds gave the opening remarks for the Forum. Chinese Ambassador to New Zealand, H.E. Wang Xiaolong, sent a congratulatory letter to the Forum. The Forum brought together senior representatives from 21 leading Chinese universities, led by CEAIE Deputy Secretary-General Ms. Fu Bo, and 8 New Zealand universities, along with representatives from Education New Zealand and Universities New Zealand. This was the first in person New Zealand-China Higher Education Forum and largest Chinese university delegation to visit New Zealand since the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants discussed areas of opportunities to work together to support education cooperation and high-quality research partnerships that benefit both New Zealand and China. 


The Forum provided an important platform for participants to share their perspectives on a variety of issues in higher education, including strengthening international collaboration between universities in New Zealand and China to increase student and academic mobility; cultivation of young researchers in higher education institutions; growing research relationships between universities, and exploring programmes which support engagement between Chinese and New Zealand university leadership.


Participants recognized that New Zealand and China share a long history of education cooperation and universities in both countries were important partners with complementary strengths and shared interests. Maintaining and exploring further collaboration is vital for enhancing education and research links that benefit New Zealand and China. This collaboration will also help address global challenges such as climate change, sustainable development, and health and food security.
