In today's world, technological innovation is experiencing an unprecedented level of intensity and dynamism, with the continuous advancement of globalization intertwined with multiple global challenges. As a crucial pillar of social development, education is demonstrating its value in the contemporary era through multi-dimensional practices: exploring innovations to drive in-depth interdisciplinary integration and cultivate top talents that align with the development of emerging industries; breaking down boundaries to connect education, research and industry, and advancing in step with the times through diverse exchanges and cooperation.

Strengthening educational cooperation is not only an inevitable choice for countries and regions worldwide to address common challenges such as climate change, the technology gap, and unbalanced development, but also a core driving force for promoting global economic recovery, cultural exchange and mutual learning, and the optimization of global governance. With the theme “Bridging Education and Beyond”, the 26th China Annual Conference & Expo for International Education (CACIE 2025) not only upholds China's original aspiration of opening up education to the world, but also responds inherently to building China into a Leading Country in Education.

“Bridging Education and Beyond” allows us to witness the unique expressions and shared aspirations of different civilizations in educational practices. CACIE2025 serves as a platform for diverse dialogues, featuring governance experiences in higher education, international pathways for vocational education, active explorations in basic education and global solutions for leveraging digital technology to advance educational equity.

“Bridging Education and Beyond” also showcases China's sense of responsibility and attitude of opening up in global education governance. In CACIE2025, we will see China taking a more proactive role in integrating into the global trend of educational development—from the continuous expansion of the scale of student exchanges, to the improvement of quality and efficiency in cross-border education; from the in-depth advancement of the “Belt and Road” Education Initiative, to the transnational sharing of digital educational resources.

The mission of education lies in inheriting the past, enlightening the present, and leading the future. The value of international education lies in embracing changes with an open attitude and addressing challenges through cooperation. CACIE2025 is not merely a grand gathering for exchanges, but also a shared commitment. We look forward to fostering collisions of ideas and mutual learning of experiences to build a broader platform for international cooperation. We will continue to take education as a bridge, promoting deeper cooperation between Chinese and foreign education institutions based on mutual trust and achieving development through win-win collaboration. We aim to inspire each other with educational concepts rooted in different civilizations, and let the educational wisdom of “appreciating one's own beauty while embracing the beauty of others to achieve the shared beauty” illuminate our shared future!

It is a privilege for New Zealand to serve as the Country of Honour at the China Annual Conference & Expo for International Education (CAClE) 2025. Our participation reflects New Zealand's strong commitment to deepening educational engagement that fosters international collaboration and innovation across our borders.

New Zealand has long been an attractive destination for international students who value the quality of our education system, the innovation of our teaching and the relevance of our research, all in an English-speaking setting. As one of the world's most beautiful and safest countries, New Zealand offers a unique learning environment where knowledge is gained from everywhere and students are equipped with the practical and critical-thinking skills needed to succeed in a rapidly changing world. New Zealand is also considered to be one of the world's friendliest, and students who come here consistently rate the people and connections they make, as well as the education experience, as the top two aspects of their experience.

Education is a cornerstone of our international connections, including between New Zealand and China, where it has featured prominently during the reciprocal exchanges between our leaders in recent years. Events such as CAClE provide the opportunity to highlight our long-standing education cooperation and demonstrate our commitment to future collaboration that will benefit our people and our futures.

We have over 20 education providers attending this year's conference, many of whom will also be at the New Zealand Pavilion during the China Education Expo.
